Frequently Asked Questions & Policies

Below you’ll find answers to most common questions as well as studio policies

Policies

Canceling or Rescheduling

You can reschedule or cancel for free up to 24 hours ahead.

When booking an appointment you’ll be required to provide card details and agree to the cancellation policy.

If you reschedule or cancel under 24 hours, you will be charged 50% of the booked service price. In case you don’t show up, you will be charged 100% of the booked service price.

Late Arrival

If you anticipate being late, notify me as soon as possible so I can make arrangements to accommodate you still.

If you’re more than 15 minutes late, I may not be able to do all aspects of your service. In some cases rescheduling your appointment will be necessary. Cancellation policy applies.

Patch Testing

New clients, or those who haven’t had a colour service with me in the past 6 months, are required to complete a patch test at least 48 hours before their appointment, as per legal requirements (Health and Safety at Work Act, Section 3).

Without a valid patch test, your service cannot be carried out.

Satisfaction Guarantee

There is nothing more important than your complete satisfaction.

In case your are unhappy with any aspect of the service you have received, please let me know within 1 week so I can arrange a suitable time for you to return to me to redo part or all of your initial service, free of charge.

I’m unable to offer a re-do if you have visited another salon since your appointment with me, applied any colour to your hair, or altered your haircut in any way.

Right to Refuse Service

Occasionally I may need to exercise the right to refuse service to a client.

As a professional, I always aim to ensure that both the client and I feel comfortable and confident about the services I provide.

Sometimes, this means recognising when I might not be the best fit for your needs or expectations or if the condition of your hair is too compromised to perform a particular service.

Etiquette

Arrive on time

It’s important to arrive punctually for your appointment to ensure that I can accommodate you and give you the best possible service.

Be prepared

If you’re getting a new hairstyle or colour, I recommend to gather ideas before your visit. This helps you and me to be on the same page and ensures better results. Images are always a big help!

Come with clean and dry hair

It’s recommended to have clean hair for a colour service unless you’re having a solid bleach service. Dirty hair can affect colour results as some colour can not penetrate through oil build up. This also helps me assess your hair condition accurately.

Be Respectful

Treat me with kindness and respect. I work hard to make you look and feel great, so being polite and considerate is always appreciated.

Product Recommendations

During your service, I may recommend haircare products that will protect your colour, maintain the health of your hair, and also help with the styling process. I’m not trying to sell you unnecessary extras, it’s part of the experience to prescribe the correct home maintenance regime to keep your hair in it’s best condition and extend the life of your colour. I do not keep retail stock, so feel free to write down any recommendations to look them up online.

FAQ

Do you offer fringe trims?

I offer one complimentary fringe trim between haircuts for all existing clients.

Every additional fringe trim will be subject to a £10 donation to a local charity.

Can I work on my laptop?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to work during your service. Just keep your head straight, and if you need to take a call, please keep the volume down.

What if I get hungry?

I offer some fresh fruits, but if you fancy something else during your service, you’re welcome to visit the downstairs while your colour is processing.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are more than welcome!

What colour do you use?

For all my colour services, I partner with Color.me by Kevin Murphy. This professional hair colour line, created by renowned stylist Kevin Murphy, uses naturally derived ingredients and is free from PPD and ammonia.

Can I colour my hair while pregnant?

Most research suggests it’s safe to colour your hair during pregnancy. The chemicals in hair colours are present in very low amounts, so they generally don’t pose a risk. However, if you’re unsure, it’s best to consult your GP for personalised advice.

What products do you use?

I exclusively partner with high-quality brands that are committed to sustainability and strongly oppose animal testing.

Is the studio accessible?

The studio is located on the first floor of the Gossamer City Project, housed within repurposed shipping containers. A platform lift provides access to the first floor. The studio entrance has a low threshold of approximately 50mm. On the ground floor, you’ll find a fully accessible bathroom, which also features a similar 50mm threshold.

Is there parking available?

On-street parking available (fees may apply)

Do you have bicycle storage?

There are multiple locations within the Gossamer City Project to securely lock your bike. If you forget your lock, you’re welcome to store your bike in front of the studio; however, please note that this is at your own risk.
