Conscious descisions

Running a conscious business means being passionate about a cleaner & greener planet. Making meaningful decisions to reduce reduce waste and my carbon footprint is a key principle of everything I do.

Single-use Plastic

I have eliminated the need for single-use plastics in all my services. This meant changing the way I work and where I source products from and also looking at alternatives where needed.

For some of my services where single-use plastics would be needed, I use biodegradable corn-based PLA which is compostable, even in our homes.

Renewable Energy

All energy, in business or private, comes from renewable sources like wind farms and solar power. Sometimes overlooked but not less important, my website runs on renewable energy too.

Speaking of my website, ever wondered why it’s mostly black? True black saves energy when using a device that uses OLED display technology. Yay!

Recycling

Recycling can work, but only when done right. My goal is to produce as little non-recyclable and bio-degradable waste as possible.

For all my recycling needs, I use ‘Handle‘. They recycle just about anything, from the hair thats being cut to the foils used for highlighting and either sort it to be recycled or turn it into new items.
What I love most about ‘Handle’ is their honest commitment to a circular economy.

Products

I exclusively partner with brands that have an excellent track record on sustainability. This is why I don’t use any major brands, as they’re not yet at that point.

Some of the deciding factors are: Sustainable packaging, responsible production, ethical business practises, fair wages and always cruelty free.

Towels

The towels I use are made by Scrummi, a B-Corp certified company based in the UK. They’re made from 100% soft and natural compostable wood fibres from certified sustainable sources.

The energy and water used in the entire lifecycle of one single ‘Scrummi’ towel, including its manufacture, is less than utilising traditional towels that need washing after every use.
